Jesus doesn’t deny the desperate. We can’t get frustrated with the desperate either. Pastor Justin Powell reminds us that in his desperation Zacchaeus climbed a tree just to get a look at Jesus. He had hear about Jesus and he couldn’t get through the crowd to see him, so he took an action of desperation. Jesus came to him and called him by name.
